Services Provided – Performed Rational Energy Calculations in accordance with SANS 10400XA 4.2.1(c), i.e. by using an approved software to show that the proposed educational buildings have a theoretical energy consumption and demand less or equal to a reference building that complies with the requirements of SANS 10400XA 4.2.1(b).

Services Provided – MSE was appointed to investigate the solar heat gains through the eastern facade of the gym in order to propose better methods of “Light Filtration”. Our evaluation identified solar heat gains in the space and proposed solar shading screens that provided a significant reduction in the solar radiation, as the cooling electricity was reduced from 48542.85 to 38321.62 kWh/annual.
